Fully Formed

Just wanted to share a few new pictures with you all. 12 weeks old. Fully formed. Such a miracle.

The first picture shows head, body and one arm (pretty obvious but just in case).
The second picture is looking at the face from the front with a hand close by.
The third is the profile with the body and a hand.

The little one was very active and seemed quite content. He or she is about 2.5-3 inches long.

The children and I leave today for a week in Texas with my grandparents. We look forward to sharing all about our journeys when we return.

Dreams

We have a morning ritual these days. It goes something like...

Good Morning Nathan!
Good Morning.
Did you sleep well?
Yes.
Did you have sweet dreams?
Yes.
What did you dream about?
Missy, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Papa, Baby, Missy, ...
Oh, those do sound like good dreams.
Vigorous head nodding.


Hmmm... I wonder who took one bite out of this cookie?!

Five!

We are excited to announce that another little Lattin is expected in early November!

Our joy is mingled with a bit of sadness. We found out (by the amazing technology of ultrasound) that our little one had a twin who miscarried very early. Though we definitely pondered the "what might have been", we are contented to know that tiny one is in the Lord's hands.

For some of you who had children prior to the age of ultrasound, you might wonder what a 7 week old baby looks like. (Dating for pregnancies is based on the first day of the last menstrual period, which means that the baby is actually only 5 weeks old at this point.) You can see the head "end" (on the right side) and the body "end". In just a couple more weeks the limbs are easily visible too. Really amazing.



And this picture shows the sac of the developing baby in the middle with the sac of the twin, much smaller and off to the far right side (with a bright white area beside it).


Hopefully the blah's of first trimester will pass soon and I will be back to more regular updates...
