One of the things that is tough to find here is a good bicycle. I guess, for the simple reason, it's just out of the price range of the local inhabitants. We were loaned a working kids bike that soon broke. And despite the workshops best efforts, including trying to hand craft the broken parts, it was beyond repair. Alas, our neighbors, the Welches, bought a kids bike in the largest "nearby" town and it too has not been able to be sustained in working condition.
So... about 6 months ago we decided that we would ship out a bike for Nathan and a bike for Noelle. (The Welches did the same for their kids.) Fortunately, a container shipment is sent to the hospital apx. twice per year. We were happy to be allowed to send the bikes out and after months of waiting and waiting. And tracking the ship with the container across the Pacific. It arrived!! Here are the elated recipients of their "new" bicycles. (The girls missed this photo op. We'll catch them next time.)
