Road Trip

Last weekend we made our first venture out on the road as a family. We headed up to Portland to visit Jason's folks. All things considered we did pretty well. Jason and I managed to get most of our things ready on Thursday night. Then Friday we were in the car before lunchtime (even with Jason rounding at the hospital that morning). As you can see, it was a somewhat overcast but generally pleasant day. And we happened to catch Nathan in one of his happier moments on the drive.

Nathan struggled with all the time in the carseat but was greeted by a most welcome sight...

Grandpa with the tractor! Nathan got to ride in the magnificent green John Deere up the short stretch of road and all the way down the driveway to their house. He had a vague recollection of the great green machine from our last visit but this trip really solidified his love for big noise makers. Nathan starts to make roaring engine noises when anyone mentions the tractor, accompanied by hand motions for steering and loading. It's adorable. He's gone through a bit of withdrawal since coming home, but the spirit is rekindled when he hears delivery trucks coming down our street.

Noelle did great in the car, but she seemed a bit anxious to be away from home once we were there. Other than a fun weekend with family and friends, we weren't up to too much. But thought we'd share.
