TWO!!

Well if one is great, TWO is double great! A few quick takes from the Lattin household over the past almost four weeks.

- We now have TWO cuddle bugs. Nathan loves to climb up in the chair or on the couch to join Noelle for time with Mom or Dad.

- Around day 8, Nathan was intently watching as I changed Noelle's diaper. Then with lightning quick speed, he reached out and swiftly plucked off Noelle's umbilical cord. TOO much! Thankfully it was pretty much ready to come off, but I knew I was in for some serious monitoring.

- The other night I was putting Nathan down to bed when he heard Noelle start to cry. Immediately he pointed towards the room she was in, completely focused on going to see her. When we went in to see Noelle, Nathan leaned over to give her a kiss. She settled and he was ready for bed. TWO precious gifts - already very attached to each other.

- So I hate to confess but it's true that Nathan will still occasionally wake up in the nighttime. Why? Well he has a finely tuned milk-ometer. If he falls short of his daily milk quota, he will wake up in the night ready for more. So with Noelle nursing (we're now at a five hour stretch once in the night), that's TWO little ones to tend to. (But Jason is usually in charge of Nathan these days.)

- Noelle has a very sweet disposition and is easy to take care of most of the time. There are, however, a couple things that get her really mad. It's the TWO ways of expelling "gas". You can know for sure she has a burp or otherwise if she's having a "moment".

- We have been surrounded with love in this exciting albeit somewhat exhausting time. In addition to visits from TWO sets of grandparents, we've also had TWO visits from Portland friends. First, our dear friend Megan who will soon graduate from med school and head for ob/gyn residency. And second, our fantastic "housemates" Aaron and Amanda (who are living in the basement apartment of our Portland house and plan to stay when we get back!). TWO wonderful visits!

- Jason and I still find ourselves in awe that we have children - not one now but TWO! Each night before going to bed, we check on each one. We are immensely grateful that they are healthy and joyful that the Lord has blessed us so incredibly.

(For those of you who have stopped trying to leave comments, I think it's working now... We love hearing from you all!)

It must be wonderful to watch Noelle and Nathan's relationship develop; I'm sure he'll be her eager playmate and protector! :)
